Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data secure?

Your data is stored on secure servers and will never be shared with anyone.

Who will be answering my survey?

QuickTake's responses are powered by SSI sample, the market research gold standard for 35 years. Your respondents will be carefully selected to meet the specifications of your study.

If you do not make any additional demographic selections, your sample will represent the US population for gender, age and region according to US Census data.

Can you be more specific about the sample selections available?

When using the targeted sample selections, be sure to pay attention to the wording of the target. For example, if the target is Video Game Users, one cannot assume that all video game users also own video games.

All selections are based on people reporting their own activities, ownership and usages.

Do you have any tips for designing my survey?

We're glad you asked. Here are some principles for designing questions to collect the data you're looking for:

On the survey set-up page, you are asked to add a survey title and introduction. The Introduction is optional. Be sure not to put text in there that will be leading or can possible bias the results of your survey. For example, it would not be advisable to use a title of “CocaCola Brand Loyalty Test” but rather something more generic such as “Beverage Awareness Test.”

1. Check and re-check carefully for typos and confusing wording
2. Include a “don’t know” or “other” option in your questions
3. Use neutral wording – don’t make your questions leading , and don’t assume that people have as much knowledge about the topic as you.
4.Give additional information if needed to clarify your questions. For example, when you ask “Have you eaten out in the past week?” – do you mean dinner, or breakfast, or just a donut?
5. Use images carefully to avoid biasing responses. (For example, if you ask people if they’ve eaten out in the last week and show them a photo of a deli sandwich, then ask them the same question with a photo of a table with linen cloth and champagne, the answers will be different.)
6. If using routing, be sure to test each variation to ensure that routing is being applied correctly.

Is there anything I shouldn’t ask in my survey?

1. Personally identifying information (address, phone number, e-mail address)
2. Questions about criminal activity, for example, have you broken the speed limit, taken illegal drugs
3. Anything that would make someone uncomfortable to share, such as detailed personal or financial questions.

Can I use this survey with my own e-mail list?

No.
